Top 6 Regrets

…in my not so short life! I took so long to finish this because I really had a hard time coming up with 6. I like what/who/how I am right now and there is nothing I would change (not counting the ever existing tummy of course!).

1. Not buying that super cheap LBD (Little Black Dress) which was of perfect length and fits me like a glove and made my legs look miles long! Not to mention the price was more than perfect!

2. Shutting the whole world out when the only thing that can help me was/is the world (I am still working on this!)

3. Trusting a MAC makeup artist too much which resulted in a totally wrong shade for my skin!

4.Going on major diet(s) during puberty which resulted in not so big tata’s 😦

5. Trusting people too easily

6. Thinking in too many languages at once which results in communication malfunction at the most important times 😦 This I cannot control 😦

I’m finally done! That took long enough! 😀

Tell Me: How many regrets do you have in your life?

BFF and I were talking the other day about our blog and how inactive and boringly empty it’s become.
So she came up with another topic to blog about – 6 regrets!

I’d be lying if I said I have no regrets.. but at the same time, I don’t really have that many regrets, particularly not big big major major ones because I’m pretty happy and content with myself and my life at the moment.

But anyway, here goes (in no particular order):
1.  insisting on having that stupid Nokia 6288, which was a super crap and problem mobile phone – worst ever!
2.  not taking better care of my skin when I was in my pre-teens
3.  sinking into mild depression and blaming God for my problems when I was 14-18
4.  buying too many useless bags during my 07/08 summer trip – I love bags but I really don’t need that many!
5.  saying too many uncalled for things in a fit of anger at the worst times (still happens, unfortunately)
6.   not caring enough about the people around me (I’m working on this at the mo!)

Alright, so now.. it’s BFF’s turn! Ha Da! (:

If you have to know (I know all the one reader we have is dying to know) relationships is not my platter of seafood (read favorite food post). They tend to go sour on me after a few months (if you are lucky!). There’s too many mini-me’s inside me screaming to be heard in regards to this post. Them and Beyonce too (Little did he know; My man gonna take it off tonight!). Can you tell i am just trying to make this longer so that it may or may not distract you from the whole main point of the post (Epic FAIL!). Part 2 below may or may not cause you to throw up your dinner tonight and swat me like an annoying fly because I am a silent romantic at heart.

I want a guy who would kiss me in front of his friends;
hold my hand in front of his parents &
goes ‘She’s the one’ when I am all the way on the other side of the room to his friends.

I want a guy who would dance with me under the stars;
One who would kiss me in the rain (washed away makeup and all)
One who would kiss me on the lips when I look at him with doubt.

He has to be able to carry me without any obvious strain (This is a feat!)
Which means that he has to be buffed and dark.
He should wear polo tops on an occasional basis
and clean up good 🙂

He should be able to dance and keep up with me!
And not get too drunk cause its just not my thing.

Trust me.
Talk to me.
Make me laugh.
Wipes away my tears.
Makes me happy.
‘Just because..’
Love me.

PDA should be second nature.
Oh and eyes that I can see, please.
He should be able to take me up on my spontaneity and not be a wet blanket.
As well as tolerate my tantrums, bitchy moods and all those that makes me a girl.

Patience, reliability, trustworthy, calm, honest.
I would like a guy who would go shopping with me and not grumble;
as well as a guy who would sweep me off my feet.

He has to have a good sense of direction;
and understands the importance of words and actions.
Someone who would love my lumps and bumps as much as I hate them.
Someone who I can cuddle up to and feel comfy not doing anything with.

Above all;
He has to make my heart beat faster.
Make a good day great.
Impress me just with his presence.
He has to be able to take me to places I’ve never been to and teach me stuff.
Act like he is upset just so that I’ll kiss him.
Understand that I don’t need material stuff;
But just someone who will satisfy me emotionally.

I dont want ‘the perfect guy’ to every other girl.
I just want my perfect guy who is no where near perfect.
And loves me because I am not either.

I know that I am not asking for the moon and that ‘he’ exists.

And now.. back to my game.

The Mr Perfect List

Filed under: personal — Tags: — almostladies @ 10:24 am

So now that I’m well into my 20s.. or rather, just entered my 20s.. I find myself creating yet another mental list of my ideal husband. It used to be called the boyfriend list. That was the time when my head couldn’t get past the dating phase. Now it’s gone over and beyond that. I’m actually exploring the whole concept of marriage. The whole “till death do us part” deal. I want to get married and have a husband that I can love and be loved by. It’s not romantic. It’s just a desire. I like that idea of having someone other than myself to think about and fuss about.

Anyway, here goes:

THE IDEAL HUSBAND
1. Taller than me
2. Older than me
3. Stronger than me (emotionally + physically)
4. Street smart
5. Rich
6. Happy
7. Easygoing
8. Simple
9. Polite
10. Generous
11. Reliable
12. Trustworthy
13. Honest
14. Good natured
15. Considerate
16. Funny
17. Christian
18. Proactive
19. Thinks things through
20. Plans for the future
21. Loves ME!

Am I asking for the moon, or what? (:

Tell Me: Does anyone here love food reviews like I do?

Filed under: Food — Tags: — almostladies @ 8:54 am

Okay peeps! I’m back from a long long long hiatus.

To make up for all the lost time..

I’m going to do my catch-up version of a favourite food review. Simply because I a huge aversion towards most food, SO, if I do find/have something that I enjoy consuming.. well, I think it’s worth blogging about.

FWAH! I’m melodramatic today.

ANYWAY! Let’s cut to the chase.

I now present to you: My #1 snack of all time!

The Kit Kat.
Kit Kat
I adore Kit Kat. I think it’s one of the most intelligent and note-worthy inventions of all time. Why didn’t they win a Nobel Prize for this? It’s so yummy and yet so affordable. A piece of chocolate, well, half of which isn’t really chocolate. But that’s the beauty of it! A humble, and oh so simple snack. With lovely red and eye-catching packaging too!

And it’s one of those snacks that tries to do everything. Look at the dozens of flavours (e.g. green tea, peanut butter, strawberry) it’s tried to form a partnership with. Some not-so-successful combinations, while some of them are just brilliantly fantastic! You have to give it some credit for trying to conqueor the world.

10/10 jellybeans!

Pitter-patter

I’m in love with silent rains. You know the kind when it rains during the peaceful part of the day? Rains like this is super romantic I reckon. Can you imagine being on a date, being under an umbrella and not talking; just dwelling in the fact that the both of you are in the rain, under the same umbrella, standing so close to each other that you can feel the other’s warmth? Or maybe in a car when the world is some how ‘melting’ all around you but that doesn’t matter cause you are safe and warm, with your date. Or maybe just being in bed with your significant other, cuddling and listening to the rain and each other’s breath. Doesn’t that make you all warm and fuzzy inside? (: Or maybe its just me.

Little Miss Perfect has been busy living her life lately. She’s been to parties and moving house and uh, a lot of studying! Yay to being a student!

And I have been busy announcing to the world that I am broke and if there’s a vacancy at a brothel… Oh and I’ve been busy writing a list of things to buy (Oh how quaint) for my room. I’ve been reading looking at a lot of jap mags too! Pretty picture’s! I’m contemplating changing styles. I’m getting tired of my laid back casual sucky dressing. I’m too young to dress this way! Its time for me to funk it up a lil bit and spice it up (Oh doesn’t that just sound kinky?). On to more colors and quirky combo’s! I’m currently loving colored and patterned tights! And nice sun dresses! Oh yes, and one piece bathing suits. You know the kind where its real low in front or has the sides cut away? Despite the funny tan line that one’ll get, its super hot! Hmm. Maybe this calls for a proper post. Oh! And I cant paint my nails to save my life. It never comes out perfect! ARGH!

Okay! I’ll be zooming off now, to live my young life.

At home. Playing online games or painting my nails (again) =.=

Tata!

p/s: I thought I was weird until Miss Perfect came online ‘YAY. I’m studying’ she said.

Favourite Food

Filed under: Food — Tags: — almostladies @ 2:59 pm

I love eating. And I love good food. I grew up eating the best food in town, waking up at unearthly hours, waiting in the sweltering heat just to satisfy my tummy is almost a norm. To me, having good food is essential. Whenever I have a bad meal, I am highly unhappy! And thus sulk and go off to have the best dessert I can find just to make up for it.

1. Seafood

I love seafood. Baked, fried, grilled, raw I’d eat ’em all! I have a weakness for seafood. It has to, of course, be fresh and done properly. Doesn’t the platter above just makes you want some? I don’t think that I have a favorite kind of seafood. Its too hard to choose!

2. Food where Nasi Lemak, Rendang, Satay, Lemang, Bubur Chacha, Laksa, Kueh Chap originated from!

Or more generally, Southeast Asian food! I’d love to add pictures under this category but there are just too much! If I did, there wont be an end to this post. Oh my. Just thinking about it is making me hungry. All these food are really disease inducing but really, its too good to not have! I may end up being old and full of disease but its all good. OH YES! Pork spare parts. I absolutely love pork spare parts. There are meals that just has to have pork spare parts. I can proudly declare that I’ve had the best malay and pork spare parts ever. EVER. Oh gawd. And to think that sometime soon, I wont be able to taste them anymore T.T People who cooks these should be awarded a medal or something. Oh, dont get me started on the desserts and kuih’s..

3. Meat

.

I love my meat. And I enjoy my hearty pieces of meat. Do away with the so called ‘artsy presentation’ with tiny pieces of meat, a whole lot of potatoes and vege’s with some sauce drizzled on the side and give me a big piece please! I’m paying $20 to be filled and not to admire your so called ‘perfect presentation’ and pretend its perfect. Why make it look so ‘good’ when its all going to come out one way? Psh. I like mine big and well done please! Ha!

4. Tropical Fruits

mMm! I love fruits too! Can you name all of them? One thing I love about tropical fruits is how you can add salt/sugar to some of them to enhance the flavor of the fruit. The above is my favvy fruits. Its been years and years since I had them. I remember how after dinner meal there will be a platter of fruits on the table for consumption. Because these fruits are considered ‘heaty’, I usually fall sick after being a glutton and having way too much. Oh and durians, I only eat the sweet ones.

p/s: This is the longest post ever! It took me 4 hours to finish because I keep getting distracted! And I also think that this is a real bad topic. Its torture to be able to see pictures and not taste them. Oh boo!

My Ideal Vacation

Filed under: holiday — Tags: — almostladies @ 10:40 am

I love the sun. I love the sea. And I love being pampered.

To wake up to the sound of the sea lapping by the shore. Sliding the wide french doors to welcome the fresh salty air into the room. Ah! I can just feel it right now. Of course, no island escape will be complete without some bubbly and an odd companion! Oh and maybe the few odd hot guys (with nice bods!) too; to stare at while passing time at the beach. I’d have seafood and fruits for every meal and wear nice bikini’s/one piece’s under lose long tops/dresses everyday paired with a nice beach tote and pretty sandals. I’d play happy songs all day long and bounce around all day from the beach to the chalet! Sigh. Doesn’t that sound just awesome?

I also happen to love arts and architecture. I can see myself walking around the The Louvre, being silenced by the magnificent art all around, somehow afraid that the slightest sound I make will cause them all to disappear. Do you know how that feels like?

The colors! The straight edges and curves which balanced it out!
How can one not fall in love with that?

Yes, I would love to visit cities with are so rich with the arts and architecture and dwell upon the greatness of it all. Florence, Venice, Milan, Bath, Paris, Italy, Barcelona. To visit the places where these magnificent works of art are situated at and be awed by the magnificence of it. The sight of these buildings alone fill one with awe before even entering the building. Can you imagine how it feels like to visit the yet-to-be-completed Sagrada Família? How about seeing the intricate details of the Pietà up close? I would love to walk down those quaint little cobbler stone streets hidden away from the main city and just see how the locals live, to try the food available at the local eatery or to just gawk at the incredibly cute local boys there. To just be like a sponge and absorb all the culture, art and richness these cities have to offer. Not to mention to feed the inner shopaholic in me. Ah yes. The richness that these cities have to offer just makes one fall in love; either with the city itself or some incredibly cute local boys! Mmm.. I wonder if I’ll be able to visit them one day.

Oh! I forgot. I dont need a 5 star hotel when visiting! Some local affordable bed and breakfast will be good enough! Tucked away from the city, cute, quiet and safe. And I’d be contented with local food and red wine for dinner everyday! See? I am easy to please after all!

Tell Me: What is your ideal sort of holiday?

Filed under: holiday — Tags: — almostladies @ 4:04 am

There are only two types of holidays that I love and enjoy.

1.  The Tropics

It has to be in a 5 star resort, situated near a white sandy beach with crystal clear water. I think I’m a sucker for luxury. I have to be spoilt rotten.. with lots of food, drink and sunbathing. Loose and colourful beach clothes/swimwear. Tens of hours of sleep. Unlimited room service. And a lovely sunset. I think the best part about holidays like this is that it actually gives you the chance to do serious relaxation. Like snorkeling in the sea with the fish or reading a book by the beach.

2. The Urban City

Shopping in a urban setting, particularly in one of the major Asian cities, is one of the best holidays any girl could ever dream of. Especially me! The variety of bags, shoes and dresses.. the big brands, the cheapie bargains. It’s just one of those things that makes me go crazy with joy. The atmosphere and food. The hotels and taxis. The late nights and busy malls. The people around me rushing about. The city, full of life and bustling with activity. Well of course, I’d need good company and a couple of credit cards on a holiday such as this one.

Boy-Girl relations.

Filed under: romance — Tags: — almostladies @ 1:55 pm

I’m very updated on goss now. Let me share some.

Girl A is ok looking. Above average. I used to think she was gorgeous the first time I met her thou. But her looks got kinda old after a while and I don’t even see her often! She is super super skinny thou. Her thighs are my arms -.- Anyway, guys go ga-ga over her. So she is going out with this alien looking guy (I swear I am not exaggerating!) She was away visiting her family for a while and had trouble with her visa when attempting to come back into the country and was stranded for a very long while. When she got back, she got two LV bags and was serenaded later at night by her boyfriend.

Tell me: What do you think about the notion of being romantic and romance?

I personally reckon that what the guy did was cheap romance. Oh c’mon. How many times have you seen that on tv? How many guys are buying their girls branded goods? A friend once said that a lot of international girl’s are just a cheaper versions of an escort. Sex every night = Branded goods a few times a month. I don’t know what the rate is for a professional escort but I reckon that it costs more than a few brands one month.

I think that romance in itself doest cost a lot of money. Flowers are not romantic, they die! I think that real romance lives on even after the relationship is no more there. I also think that romance without ‘love’/like are just empty gestures. Romance doesn’t have to cost much; all it needs is just being raw, doing stuff ‘just because’. Waking up early to make breakfast, get all dressed up for a nice dinner at home, a slow walk during a starry night. All these are just fine and they don’t cost as much as a pair of red soles. For a pair of red soles you can buy tickets to Paris and walk down those quaint little streets hand in hand; how much more romantic can it get?

I personally reckon that romance is over-rated yet under-rated at the same time. There is a lot of romance going on at the moment but its without real feelings, but yet, there’s too little romance going on when feelings are just over flowing. I look at old couples who still walks hand in hand down the street and I stare at them with envy. I also do wonder, what do they do to keep the spark alive?

‘If you had the chance to do it all over again, would you?’
‘Yes’

There is a lot I’d change. The first thing that crept into my mind was how I would be more romantic, to be more vocal about my feelings. Is it just me or are there people like this as well? I love being romanced and well, I have to say that I have not been good enough. If I had another go at it, I would be more romantic. After all, I’m sure guys loved being romanced as girls do.

My notion of romance is simple. Keep it simple. No fancy stuff. Keep it real and raw. A peck before you leave work and pillow talks is sufficient for me. Too many surprises too often just takes the whole fun out of it. Everyone loves being swept off their feet and romanced once in a while, so why not?

So tell me, what do you think about romance and being romantic? Is it just a gesture to get the person you want or should there be something more to it?
